Currency
The Rupee, the Indian monetary unit, consists of 100 paise. Indian coins come
in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 25 and 50 paise and 1,2 and 5 rupees. Currency
notes are in denominations of 1,2,5,10,20,50,100 and 500. A declaration of the
foreign currency and traveller's cheques brought into India should be made in
the Currency Declaration Form given to the tourists on arrival by airport offiicals.
Customs Formalities
GREEN CHANNEL - for passengers not having any dutiable or forbidden articles
or unaccompanied baggage or high-value articles to be entered on Tourist Baggage
Re-Export Form.
Immigration/Passport/Visa
Citizens of all countries, except Nepal and Bhutan and South Africans of Indian
origin, need valid Passports and Visas.
