Chitrakoot, 'the hill of many wonders', nestles peacefully in the northern
spurs of the Vindhyas, a place of tranquil forest glades and quiet rivers, and

of pilgrims.

the principal trinity of the Hindu pantheon, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, took
their incarnations.
